To be accepted as an accredited member of IACOU a
university must meet the following standards:
» The
university must be legally registered within the country it is
situated. It must offer a full distance learning degree program
without any resident requirement.
» The university must have a non-discrimination
policy on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, age,
disability, sexual orientation, or marital status.
» The university will have to
provide a confidentiality policy to the students about secrecy of
their academic and personal records. The university will not release
any information without the student's prior approval and it will not
graduate any student who does not meet the academic requirements as
set by that institution.
» It would be
the responsibility of the university to inform IACOU about any
material change in the operation of their college that might cause
concern to the Commission.
» A university may only be considered for
accredited membership when nominated by a member of IACOU.
» A member may
resign any time by tendering his resignation in writing or through
e-mail.
